Writing Update #15: Halfway Through NaNoWriMo

I am over the moon. I am feeling so good and so happy. November has been a good month to me so far and I do think I have to credit some of that to the discipline NaNoWriMo provides. I have written every day for the last 15 days. I’ve written at least 1,000 words a day and I’ve never felt so inspired by the world around me. I’ve had 3 more ideas for future books, which is motivating me to keep working on the two projects I’m writing because I want to write those stories.

If you haven’t been following my writing updates, I’m working on two projects this month (which Is kinda nuts, I admit) but one of them I am co-writing with Amber. The other is my solo project that am I editing and working on my second draft for. It’s changed a lot since the core idea came to me on October 31, 2019 and I’m loving where it’s going.

There’s still so much to do before these books can see the light of day but today, November 15, 2021, I feel GOOD. I’m really proud of all the hard work I put it leading up to November so I could dedicate a chunk of my time to my creative pursuits. Maybe they’re terrible now, but they have been hugely important to me and my future.

Current Stats:

Project One: Solo Project

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Feels Like: The Simple Wild meets People We Meet On Vacation

Word Count: 15, 718 of 90,000—Draft 1 was around 90k and I’ve edited that much!

Project Two: Co-Writing with Amber, Dual POV

Genre: New Adult Contemporary Fiction with Romance Elements

Feels Like: American Royals meets Mom Jeans and Other Mistakes

Word Count: 44,515 Draft 1

As always, I know these little updates are more for me than for you and I apologize for that. But they are really special to me so I always appreciate the space to reflect on my writing!
