Review: And Now, Back to You by BK Borison

Thank you Berkley Publishing for my copy! All thoughts are my own.

The joy of picking up a copy of one your most anticipated reads of the year is a feeling like no other! One of my favorite books from last year was the first book in the Heartstrings universe, First-Time Caller so I couldn’t wait to dive back into the world. Plus, snowed in is one of my top tropes! I liked this book a lot and had a great time reading it.

Synopsis:

“Jackson Clark and Delilah Stewart have had their fair share of run-ins over the years, often ending in disaster. While Jackson thrives on routine and organization from the comfort of his radio booth, Delilah loves the spontaneity and adventure out in the field. When they’re partnered against their will to cover a historic snowstorm, they find themselves scrambling to figure out how to work together.

Eager to be taken seriously as a journalist, Delilah offers Jackson a deal: If he can help her ace this assignment, she’ll help him rediscover his long-lost fun side. With unexplored chemistry burning beneath their clashes, the unlikely partnership quickly tumbles into an easy and surprising friendship.

But when other feelings start to enter the equation, can Jackson and Delilah withstand the storm? Or does what happens in the mountains stay in the mountains?” —NetGalley

What I Liked:

  1. The Tropes—Forced proximity during a snowstorm is like catnip for me. I truly don’t think I’ll ever get sick of the trope!

  2. The Characters—I loved Jackson and Delilah so much, plus all the side characters. I wish we got a tad more from Aiden and Lucie but I still loved getting to know Jackson’s side of the Heartstrings world.

  3. The Dialogue—BK’s dialogue is top notch. It’s my favorite part of her writing and I thought the dialogue was whip smart and engaging.

What Didn’t Work for Me:

  1. Parts of the Pacing—Around the 70% mark things started to fade for me and it seemed like the issue of them being stuck in the storm was too easily resolved.
